TGIF- Friday Favorites

So last Friday I didn’t have a chance to get a Friday Faves post together, but I’m back this week and ready to link up with these lovely ladies:

April at Smidge of This for Five on Friday, Karli at September Farm for Oh Hey Friday, Amanda at Meet at the Barre for Friday Favorites and Erika at A Little Bit of Everything for Friday Favorites.

Let’s get started!

In case you missed it, I shared my DIY Cedar Window Boxes on the blog last Monday! I’m so happy with how they turned out even though they were a total pain in the booty.

You’ll want to read about my experience and get some tips from that post in case you’re looking to make your own.

So I had my second chemical peel yesterday and this time we opted for the next level up because the first peel I had, I didn’t peel at all. Which is fine, my esthetician said she starts slow to see how skin reacts. Even though my skin didn’t actually peel I did notice a little bit of an improvement in my skin tone so I’m looking forward to the results of the stronger peel I got yesterday.

Have y’all ever had a peel before?

So if you’ve been following along the last month or two you may have learned that I am starting esthetician school!

After my chemical peel appointment I swung by the school to finish paperwork and all that fun stuff so this coming Monday will be my first day of school and I am so excited to start this new journey.

I’m actually kind of surprised I’m not nervous, that may come when I’m on my in, but yup, I’m doing it.

Normally when I blog I’m sharing info on how to do something but I’m thinking I’ll make a post here soon to share more about why I’m starting this new adventure (currently an accounting assistant) because I personally love hearing other people’s stories and I love when people chase after their dream. I’m also thinking of having some posts about advice and tips I’ve learned while on this journey to help me manage everything that’s going on.

If y’all have been/are in the same boat as me I’d love to hear what your best piece of advice is!

Y’all, if I was in a competition with Casper on who’s the whitest, I would probably win.

It’s bad.

I used to work at a tanning salon back in my high school reckless days and I used to lay out in the sun to get as dark as possible but NO MO!

I am not trying to risk getting skin cancer and wrinkles from sun damage. When one of my YouTube beauty gurus, Lauren Curtis, shared her before and after picture on Insta after using Loving Tan, I had to try it. She uses extra dark which I was a little nervous about so instead I ordered the basic starter kit in dark.

It comes with an applicator glove and dark tanning mouse for $39.95. Per the tracking number I should have this bad boy by Saturday so I’ll keep y’all posted on how everything turns out!

I am so excited for the work day to be over because 1, it’ll be the weekend and 2, Corey and I are meeting some friends for seafood tonight! I have been craving a crab cake or some fish tacos lately and Corey is always down for some blue crabs so I’m looking forward to a beer and some yummy food tonight.

I’ve never made crab cakes at home, but these Maryland Crab Cakes from Alexandra’s Kitchen look pretty dang tasty.

What’s y’alls go-to at a seafood restaurant?

That’s all for today folks, let me know what you’re up to this weekend!

Mmmm crab cakes! They do look yummy!

And your window boxes look so adorable – so much so I may be peeking over at your post soon since we’re moving and I’m all about adding greenery to our new place. I’m also thinking of making an indoor window box for succulents. Hmm…

Anyways, I hope you have a great weekend!

Congrats on your decision to go back to school!! That’s big time!! I haven’t done a peel in a LONG time. I think the last one I did was a beta peel (maybe an alpha peel? Nobody knows.) and it BURNED… I think it worked and it was gorgeous after the fact… but I remember the burning. I think it’s smart to start slow if possible. 😉

Thank you so much! Lol, she told me which peel it was and now I completely forgot, there’s so many! I think the worst part for me is the smell of the peel, it like stings your nose. Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your week!
