TGIF- Friday Favorites

Man, I am so happy it’s Friday y’all. It has been a long week, let’s get this Friday Faves going, shall we?

As usual, linking up with these lovely ladies today:

April at Smidge of This for Five on Friday, Karli at September Farm for Oh Hey Friday, Amanda at Meet at the Barre for Friday Favorites and Erika at A Little Bit of Everything for Friday Favorites.

Let’s get started!

In case you missed it, I shared my enjoy the month ideas for April on Monday, you can click here to head on over and check that bad boy out.

So if you’ve been following along lately, you may know that I’ve been looking into esthetician schools in my area. I found one I really like and I’m in the process of applying and actually doing this! It’s a huge change for me because I’m currently in accounting, so yea… totally different.

Also, if you’ve been around here for a while you may know I enjoy listening to podcasts at work and I found this esthetician podcast by Lori Crete, “The Esthetician Mentor”. I’ve been loving her interviews and I’ve already learned a lot just from listening to the first five episodes. If you’re interested in checking it out, it’s not too esthetician-y if that makes sense, it’s mainly about beauty biz and how to rock out in that.

You can learn more about Lori here.

Corey and I have had some bad luck with appliances lately.

First, the dryer stopped heating up. Corey was able to fix that after ordering several different parts, so that was like a week with no dryer.

Then, I’m using the oven one day and I notice a weird burning smell. I tell Corey about it and when I go to heat the oven up again when he’s in the house, he smells what I had been smelling, pulls the oven out and we realize the wires are burning where they’re connected to the oven. So that’s no bueno.

Go to Lowe’s, find an oven, they don’t have it in stock. No store near us has it in stock. We have to drive an hour and a half after work on Tuesday to pick up the oven. We got home at like 9:30 at night Tuesday and didn’t feel like removing the oven from my car so I drive around with an oven for a day. Then we’re able to remove the old oven, bring in the new one without injuring ourselves. Go to remove the power cord from the old oven and one of the wires is burnt as well. Yesterday Corey went to Home Depot, got a new power cord and last night we were able to use our new oven.

You never realize how much you use something until you don’t have it.

I really wanted an oven with no back, where all the knobs are on the front but those are a lot more expensive, so we settled on this one. It’s smudge-proof stainless steel, pretty fancy.

I loved the Behind the Design episode after Fixer Upper the other week. It seems like all that’s on HGTV is reno shows, and while they’re cool, not everyone is in the process of renovating their house or want to renovate their house. So, to see a show that actually goes through the design process and why certain things were picked and all that jazz is super refreshing.

Did y’all see it? What did you think?

After work today one of my co-worker friends and I are hitting up this yummy Mexican restaurant and I can not wait to chow down on a taco salad and drink a margarita. This has been a crazy week so it is definitely needed.

What kind of margarita do y’all like? I’m not a sweet drink person, so I steer clear of the fruity margaritas and always stick to the classic on the rocks.

Check out this yummy looking Classic Margarita on the Rocks Recipe from Flourishing Foodie.

That’s all for today folks! Let me know what you’re up to this weekend!

Mexican is always a good idea! Enjoy! I prefer frozen margaritas just because I feel like you get more. Whether that’s true or not I’m not sure ha but in my head it makes sense.

Lol, that is very true, and I think I’m picking up what you’re putting down with your frozen margaritas. Have a great weekend!

Mmmm margaritas sound pretty amazing right now. There’s a new local Mexican restaurant that opened in downtown Ventura that has killer margaritas – I love their cucumber one. And sorry you’ve been having so much difficulty with your appliances. It really does suck when you don’t have them. I hope you really enjoy your new stove though!

    Have a wonderful weekend!

I’ve heard of cucumber margaritas but I’ve never had one, it sounds cool though! And thanks, I think we’re finally good on the appliance front lol. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
