Enjoy the Month

Enjoy the Month You’re In- April

Happy April everybody, it is O-fficially Spring!

Well, at least here in Virginia it is, and hopefully it is or will be very soon where you’re at.

If you’re new around here, I do this whole “enjoy the month” thing at the beginning of each month to help myself (and hopefully you) stay in the season we’re currently in. There’s nothing wrong with looking ahead and being excited for the next month or season, but sometimes I think what’s special about the time you’re currently in gets lost in all that.

Make sense?

So, here are some of my ideas for things you can do in the month of April, let’s get started!

One

Easter is Sunday, April 16th this year!

Corey and I don’t go too crazy with this holiday but I have put together an Easter egg hunt for him and his older brother one year and it was hilarious. There are a ton of fun activity ideas on Pinterest if you want to switch it up from the traditional Easter egg hunt.

Two

I love these monthly seasonal produce printables from Uproot Kitchen. Challenge yourself to come up with a new recipe this month using an ingredient, or two or three from this list!

Three

Wake up early one Saturday and go check out what your local Farmer’s Market has to offer!

Four

You know the saying, “April showers bring May flowers”? Go on out there and dance in the rain one day. Just make sure you’re wearing waterproof mascara.

Five

April 22nd is Earth Day, make sure you do something good for the environment!

Six

Nothing says spring to me like a tulip. Doesn’t matter the color, whenever I start seeing them in the floral department at the grocery store I know spring is here. Make sure you pick some up to incorporate them around your casa.

Seven

Remember that landscape plan you came up with last month? Start implementing it this month!

Eight

If you’re not feeling like updating your landscape you can easily update your curb appeal with some awesome new planters or window boxes. What’s great about these is you can have greenery in there that stays green all year long and then you can switch out the fun colorful stuff each season.

Nine

If you’re sitting around one weekend with nothing to do, check out what’s going on in your neck of the woods! Just google your city or county local events and the list should pop right up!

Ten

So, April is pretty much flower month to me, but here are some other ideas from March that will still apply this month:

  • Make a Wreath- You can find my tutorial here.

  • Start a work-out routine
  • Freshen up and get a man, pedi, facial, whatever blows your skirt up
  • Go shopping for some new spring shoes and clothes
  • If you haven’t done your Spring cleaning yet, you still got time

Do y’all have any specific April/spring activities you’re excited about? Let me know what you’re planning this month in the comments!

Happy spring everybody!

Love that seasonal produce print! Headed there next to snag it for myself.

And those decorate eggs are perfection. We may do ours that way instead of dyeing them this year.

    Super fun ideas!!

I know, her prints are awesome, and they’re pretty so it won’t look like junk on your fridge! Aren’t the eggs cute? It’s definitely a lot less messy way of decorating eggs for Easter, have a great week!

You are so right. Sometimes we forget about the simple and beautiful things, and we just worry about meaningful things. We should start and enjoy every second of this beautiful nature. Thanks for the reminder.

It’s still a tiny bit chilly here in Philadelphia but I know it’ll be beautiful in just a few weeks! I can’t wait to start planting flowers and checking out the farmers market!

Ahh, reading this totally reminded me of farmers’ markets! I completely forgot about those and am going straight to my city’s website after this to search out when ours begins for the season!

I love tulips too! I’ve been purchasing a bouquet of them each week when I grab groceries — they make my living room feel so much brighter!
