TGIF- Friday Favorites

So the Patriots won the Super Bowl… again.

Anywho, now that that is over we can all move on with our lives and get started on this Friday Favorites post!

As usual, I’m linking up with these four awesome bloggers:

April at Smidge of This for Five on Friday, Karli at September Farm for Oh Hey Friday, Amanda at Meet at the Barre for Friday Favorites and Erika at A Little Bit of Everything for Friday Favorites.

In case you missed it I shared a simple Valentine’s Gift Idea for Him on the blog Monday, you can click here to head on over and check that out.

Two things for numero dos today.

One, in a Friday Favorites post from January I shared a yummy soup recipe from How Sweet It Is. I wanted to let y’all know I did indeed make this and it is amazing.

Two, this recipe I’ve made like… five times now and it’s one of mine and Corey’s faves. I cook all the meals in the house and I work full time so during the week I need something that is simple but delicious. This recipe is just that. The flavor is amazing, it’s easy to make and most if not all of the ingredients you may already have in your kitchen.

It’s also a Paleo recipe if you’re into that type of thing. What are your favorite week night meals?

My mini iron I bought years ago really disappointed me last weekend. I needed it because I was using heat transfer material for an upcoming project. I found this little dude at TJ Maxx years ago and I thought it was cool because it was cheap and little and the box said it was perfect for craft projects so I’m like “yes, this is gonna be good”.

It was not, this iron did not transfer jack to my material. I was very sad.

So, I decided it was finally time to buy an actual iron, which I do need one to iron out my Ikea slipcovers anyway.

I’ll be stopping by Wal-Mart or Target today to pick out a big girl iron, wish me luck this weekend.

Wednesday night Corey got home late and he was outside doing things right when he got home. He came inside and told me he thinks Ms. Kay (our cat) is hanging out with the wrong crowd. I asked him what he mean and he says he just walked around the side of the house and Ms. Kay was just chillin with two possums. That are apparently bigger her than her.

Naturally I freak out because she’s my baby and I’m like oh my gosh, I bet that’s what she got into the last time she had a trip to the vet. In case you missed my little blurb on that, I talked about it on this TGIF post.

I texted some friends what had happened and I was informed by one of them that possums are normally pretty nice and they’re only mean when they feel threatened and apparently they eat ticks and crap and rarely have rabies.

That’s comforting I guess.

I promise she’s not always in a cone, but the only other pictures I have of her are on my iPhone and they just don’t look as nice. And that’s a pipe cleaner stuck in her cone, she’s obsessed with those.

Have you guys ever caught your animals doing something a little wonky?

The weather in Virginia has been crazy this past week. Tuesday and Wednesday it was like 70 degrees, Thursday morning it was windy and below freezing/snowing on and off and now this weekend the temperatures are climbing back up (which I’m not complaining about). Are y’all having any crazy weather where you’re at?

And yes, I did block out the city and zip code. I’ve seen Web of Lies on the ID channel, just being cautious.

That’s all for today folks, enjoy your weekend!

Our weather here in GA is drunk – 26 yesterday morning and 70 tomorrow. My poor girls keep gettting colds b/c of this nutty weather! So funny your kitty was hanging with possums. We don’t let our cat outside because I don’t trust him… he’d either run away or find a new family of rabbits to eat.

Haha I don’t know either, that cat is crazy! But if her possum friends are the ones who ruffed her up the last two times, I’m gonna be sending them a bill lol. Have a great weekend!

This week the weather was in the teens, this weekend in the 60s. Although I must confess, I’m loving the warmer temps. The recipes look delish! Thanks for sharing. Hope you are having a terrific weekend!!
