Enjoy the Month

Enjoy the Month You’re In- February

In case it wasn’t obvious in the title I’m back today to share my list of things to do in the month of February. If you missed my first post in January you can check that out here.

One of the resolutions I had this year was to slow down and enjoy what’s going on around me as opposed to always looking ahead to the next thing. At the beginning of each month this year I’ll be sharing a list of things you can do during that month.

So without further adieu, let’s get started on the shortest month of the year!

Celebrate Valentine’s Day! I’m sure some of y’all are probably rolling your eyes, but you don’t always have to go out to a fancy dinner and spend a bunch of money. If you’re the one who normally cooks, ask your guy to do it. You can make this day your own thing, it doesn’t always have to be a cliche.

Have a Super Bowl party! Or, if you have to work the next day like most of us do, just celebrate with your people at home. If you’re looking for a yummy dip recipe you can check out my easy to make crab dip!

Start an indoor herb garden. Herbs are normally pretty easy to take care of so they’re a great way to get your green thumb back in action before spring is here.

Apparently February 7th is “Send a Card to a Friend Day”. That would be a nice thing for you to do.

We’re at the tail end of winter ladies and in case you’re in need of some exfoliating here’s a sugar scrub recipe you can whip up. Or if you’re feeling really luxurious, book a spa day.

Read a book. February is still pretty darn cold, so curl up with that book you’ve been wanting to read.

Take a pottery class, wine and paint class, photography class, you get the picture. Whatever blows your skirt up.

Take advantage of the seasonal produce. Not only will buying seasonal produce help you save money (normally it goes on sale more often when it’s in season) but maybe you can try a new ingredient and expand your recipe collection.

I’m loving this list from Uproot Kitchen.

Check out your local events calendar to see what’s poppin’ in your neighborhood.

February 28th is Mardi Gras! You don’t have to go all crazy with the beads but you could make this awesome looking jumbalaya from Gimme Some Oven.

These are repeats from my January list, but these would still apply for the month of February:

Weekend trip to a ski resort | Have a game night | Have a bonfire | Working/Finishing an interior home project

This month I made it a little easier for y’all to print this list and hang it up wherever you please so you can check things off as you go throughout your month.

That’s all for today folks, let me know if you have any February activities you’re in to!

Special thanks to Jenna at The Painted Apron for reminding me of Mardi Gras, I completely spaced that off my list!

This is such a fun idea! Even though I’m super single I love celebrating Valentine’s Day, what can possibly be bad about a day decimated to love!? I usually send valentines in the mail to a few of my friends so that lines up perfectly with send a card to a friend day!

Yes, yes, yes!!! Love your lists. <3 I have successfully failed at my last two attempts to plant an herb garden. But I'm no quitter… Ha! Time for round three.

I love the idea of making a list of ideas for each month! And even more I love the title – enjoy the month. That puts me in the right frame of mind, especially during February where the winter seems to really start dragging.

On our list for this month is possibly checking out the aerial ski competition going on (we live near Park City, UT and they still use the 2002 Olympic Venues for all kinds of things). The husband and I wanted to sign up for a Valentine’s Day cooking class (5 fancy courses of yummy food I would never cook myself) but the class was full so we now have tickets to a funny show at a dinner theater. And sledding. Lots of sledding for the kids.
    Happy February!

Thank you! I know, February is hard because it’s like, Spring is right around the corner I can feel it! But there are still special things to do during the month. Your list sounds awesome! That is so cool that you live so close to where the Olympics were held! Sounds like y’all are gonna have a great February, thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!

Oh, I’ll definitely be doing a lot of reading this month. I liked the Send a Friend a Card day. How cute is that?
